Abdominoplasty
Abdominoplasty reduces surplus skin in the area of the abdomen and usually repairs or tightens the muscles of the abdomen at the same time. After dramatic weight loss and almost always after pregnancy, the abdominal wall and skin remain slack. The typical consequence of such weight loss is also stretch marks, usually around the navel and occasional slackness of the abdominal muscles. Plastic surgery provides an opportunity to correct these problems. The operation tightens slack abdominal muscles through suturing and removes surplus skin and subcutaneous tissue from the abdominal area. The incision is made above the pubic hair in such a way that the final scar can be hidden under underwear.
The operation not only provides good aesthetic and functional results, but also halts the process of further weakening of the abdominal wall muscles. The effect is long term and if there are no further extensive weight changes, the operation does not need to be repeated.

Mini-abdominoplasty with liposuction involves surgical correction of the abdominal wall due to surplus skin and the spot reduction of subcutaneous fatty tissue.
Preparation:
Thorough bowel evacuation is recommended for easier post-operative care. The operation is not suitable for patients suffering from varicose veins. Nothing is to be eaten or drunk and there is no smoking from midnight on the day of the operation. Skin must be cleansed free of creams or oils, the navel clean and hair removed.
Operation:
The operation is performed under general anaesthesia with hospitalization of 2 to 3 days, depending to the extent of surgery.
Post-operative procedures:
A liquid diet is administered on the first post-operative day. Getting out of bed must be done slowly and carefully, with no sudden movements and patients must roll over onto their side first to sit up.
Drains inserted in the wound during the course of the operation are removed within 24 to 48 hours. The sutures under the skin are removed on the 17th to 21st day after the operation. Elastic underwear must be worn for 1 to 2 months after the operation. Patients can bring their own, or can buy special underwear designed for this type of operation at our clinic. In the case of abdominal wall correction, toning up or strenuous exercise is not recommended for 2 months after the operation. Covering the scars with a strip of low allergy adhesive bandage is recommended for the following 6 weeks.
