Endoscopical operation of the forehead
This operation helps by stretching the wrinkles on the forehead, raising lowered eyebrows and stretching the skin taut over the whole face. Losing flexibility and elasticity of the skin and the appearance of wrinkles is a natural consequence of ageing.
In the course of an endoscopic operation, optics are used that make it possible to use surgical instruments from small incisions in the hairline, so the scars will be hidden. After cutting the mimic muscles that cause the development of forehead wrinkles, the skin is stretched and surplus tissue is removed.
Preparation:
Medications containing acetylsalicylic acid (Aspirin, Acylpirin, Anopyrin, etc.) are not to be administered for 3 weeks before the treatment. No make-up may be used and the hair should be freshly washed on the day of the operation. Nothing is to be eaten or drunk and there is no smoking from midnight on the day of the operation.Operation:
The operation is performed under general anaesthesia. Skin incisions (final scars) are located in the hairline and are 1.5 to 2 cm long.Post-operative procedures:
1 to 2 days’ hospitalisation is required and during the first week of the post-operative period a flexible head bandage is necessary. Major swelling and bruising will subside within one week. After two weeks it is possible to wash the hair.
