Lip enlargement
The goal of this operation is to correct the volume, shape and any asymmetry of the lips. The lips are a very important feature of any face through their function, placement, rich expressiveness and colour. Besides inborn disproportions, changes can also be observed during the course of a lifetime; for instance with age the lips get narrower, paler and lose fullness.
Lip shape can be corrected by implanting various materials:
- Subcutaneous fat
- Foreign biological material (collagen injections)
- Synthetic materials
Preparation:
The operation does not require any special preparation.
Operation:
The operation is performed under local anaesthesia; hospitalisation is not necessary.
Post-operative procedures:
The operated lip remains swollen for about 10 days. Post-operative cooling with crushed ice (in a plastic bag and a cloth) is appropriate. Liquid or mushy food, as well as washing the mouth with a chamomile solution is recommended. The stitches are removed on the 9th to 11th day.
