Wrinkles on the face – what to do with them?

Have you noticed the first wrinkles in your face, forcing you to admit that the years are already showing on your face and you are looking for a solution?

Are you looking through magazines and browsing on web, thrilled that there is a solution, but soon confused about what method to choose? What criteria should you use when choosing from many, more or less, invasive procedures?

Skin ageing is a natural process influenced by many factors, including the quality and elasticity of skin, but also by diet and skin care.  Soon or later, nobody escapes the wrinkles. If you decide to rejuvenate your image, you can basically choose from three broad groups of treatments and procedures, which can reduce the signs of ageing.  These groups include the application of filling materials and Botox, smoothing techniques (e.g. laser, peeling etc.) or facial plastic surgery. Which method to choose? Usually you cannot manage without the advice of an expert. Sometimes a client comes, requesting a facelift, but we recommend some other method because the ageing process in her face is not so advanced. On contrary, in other cases, less invasive techniques would not bring the desired effect, says Karel Urban, M. D. from the Esthé clinic.

It is also possible that after coming strongly determined to undergo surgery, you leave the first consultation with an appointment for chemical peeling, hyaluronic acid, laser treatment, Botox or any other, less invasive, method of skin rejuvenation.

The decision on the type of treatment depends not only on the progress of the ageing process, but also on the location of the wrinkles. A facelift cannot address all of types of wrinkles. The combination of facelift with other procedures, such as surgery on the forehead, neck and eyelids, is often used. To get the best results, we can perfect the facelift after recovery with some less invasive treatment, adds Karel Urban, M. D.

The desire for a youthful appearance is, however, limited. Extremely stretched skin in facelift or an excessive amount of Botox may negatively influence the overall expression of the face. Therefore, an aesthetic surgeon must carefully consider the choice of the suitable method. Many of you more or less rightly ask if a particular clinic is not going to promote the method in which the local surgeons specialize. To avoid this, Dr. Urban recommends: It is best to choose a clinic, which is not limited to some technique but offers a wide selection. Then the client may be sure that she gets an objective view of what is really good for her face.
