He graduated from the Medical Faculty of Charles University, Prague. He has been working for more than 13 years in the Anaesthesia-Resuscitation Department of the Královské Vinohrady Teaching Hospital. Since 1991 he has been working as head physician of the Anaesthesia Department at the Clinic of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of III. MF CHU. He has also completed a long-term residency at the Clinic of Plastic Surgery at the same faculty.
